A steer named Friction, who became beef products several years ago, is still at the center of law suits on the cattle show circuit amidst claims of rancher fraud. It all started at Kansas City's American Royal in 2007, when Friction vanished after placing in the competition, only to reappear with a different name and owner in an Arizona show. The Kansas City Star digs into the politics of prize-winning beef.

An unfortunate typographical error sends 7000 copies of an Australian cookbook to the pulper. "We're mortified that this has become an issue of any kind, and why anyone would be offended, we don't know," Penguin Group Australia Head of Publishing Bob Sessions said in regards to the recipe that called for "salt and freshly ground black people", according to the AFP.

Not only is it making us fat and giving us diseases, but fast food is also making us impatient. The Daily Mail reports that a British study slated to be published in Psychological Sciences shows that being exposed to fast food logos is enough to trigger the desire for instant gratification.
