A slice with pepperoni at Feraro's Jersey-Style Pizza
I feel bad singling out Feraro's for a slice only, so consider this a blanket recommendation to enjoy Feraro's Jersey-style pies in any form you prefer, from a $2.50 plain cheese slice to one of the $20+ specialty pizzas. At any rate, I chose to go the slice route because there are so few places in St. Louis to get a decent slice, the ideal cheap lunch.

And the slices at Feraro's are far better than decent, the lightly chewy crust topped with the distinctly sweet sauce and a thick cap of cheese. Toppings are 75 cents each, and for all the love that this 100 Favorite Dishes series will shower on more ambitious pies from other pizzerias, my pizza pleasures are simple, at heart, and I need only pepperoni to make me happy.

I'm counting down -- in no particular order -- 100 of my favorite dishes in St. Louis. Some are well-known, others obscure. Some are expensive, others dirt cheap. All of them, I guarantee, are delicious. Please do not hesitate to share your own favorites via the comments thread.
