​This week, James Beard Foundation Awards were doled out, with St. Louis' own Gerard Craft of Niche up for Best Midwest Chef. The honor went elsewhere, but kudos to Craft for being a two-time finalist. For other local restaurant news, see the Restaurant Roll Call for April's openings and closings.


What else did we do this week?

  

Drink of the Week sampled a Slutbucket.

Interviewed Fresh director Ana Sofia Joanes about the documentary.

Scoped out some sabroso street eats for Saturday's Cinco de Mayo festival.

Thrill or Swill gave a South African Steen a chance.

Chef's Choice interviewed Eliott Harris of Miso on Meramec.
