Bread Co. Up, Airline Food Upchucked in Today's Headlines

morningbrewnew.JPG
The Wall Street Journal reports that Panera Bread, still stubbornly known around these parts as Saint Louis Bread Co., is scouting locations in Manhattan. "Current real-estate conditions are paving the way for Panera's entrance," Panera's president and CEO Bill Moreton, told the WSJ.

Just goes to show that if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

In other Panera news, the company has announced plans to open "pay-what-you-wish" stores nationwide. The first such store was opened last month, on Clayton Road in Richmond Heights.

A study conducted by the University of Arizona and Loma Linda University in California has found that reusable grocery bags tend to get pretty stanky with repeated use. Wash your bags, people.

Guess what! Airline food is BAD FOR YOU!

And, finally: Bluefin tuna really are endangered. What part of "really are endangered" don't you understand?

Yeah, yeah, it's the Afternoon Brew. We, uh, overslept.
