Almost ten years after "Fast Food Nation", author Eric Schlosser's fighting for food safety reform. He recently answered some questions from Food Safety News about the FDA, the USDA, and how the American food system favors commerce over safety.

Flaming drinks are good, clean fun, right? Just don't purposefully light the bar on fire. The New York Times reports that hip Chinatown bar Apotheke was infiltrated by three undercover fire marshals who arrested co-owner Albert Trummer after he poured liquor on the bar and lit it into a 15-foot by 6-foot wall of flame - a regular event at the establishment. He said, "My intention was not to hurt anybody. I'm an artist. I'm a mixologoist. I'm a cook. But I'm not a pyrotechnic maniac."
