News Tidbits from the Tavern Kitchen & Bar, Mihalis

​I was in Seattle last week, drooling over the fresh seafood at Pike Place Market -- the rare tourist destination that lives up to (maybe even exceeds) the hype -- so pardon me for tipping my cap to Gut Check's fellow bloggers for the news I missed.

First up, George Mahe reported on Relish that the Tavern Kitchen & Bar will open at 2961 Dougherty Ferry Road this fall. From the owners of the Corner Pub & Grill in Kirkwood and Chesterfield, the Tavern will offer "exquisite comfort food" by executive chef Justin Haifley, a St. Louis native who has worked in New York City for several years.

Meanwhile, Sauce Magazine reported that Mihalis Chophouse (1603 McCausland Avenue) has closed.
