Costco condemns veal producer at urging of animal rights group. The Associated Press reports that the Washington-based wholesale club was presented a video of Buckeye Veal Farm in Ohio, made by animal rights group Mercy for Animals. The video shows calves chained in pens too small for them to lie down. "We are extremely disappointed, not only with the performance of our supplier in this instance, but with our own performance as well. We hold ourselves to a high standard, and in this case, we plainly did not perform to that standard." Said Costco CEO Jim Senegal. The company is reviewing its veal policies, while the producer claims the video was sensationalized.

Ladies night is on! The Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals has ruled against a self-proclaimed "anti-feminist" attorney who filed suit against several New York City bars and nightclubs, claiming that offering free or reduced prices to women is unconstitutional.
