Rachael Ray Spars with Letterman, Hosts Burger Bash

On Friday night, while David Letterman took Rachael Ray to task (via Eater), she was at the "Blue Moon Burger Bash presented by Pat LaFrieda Meats, hosted by Rachael Ray", a part of New York Wine & Food Festival. The New York Observer reviews the event.

While the U.S. focuses on childhood nutrition, the United Kingdom's paying attention to feeding the elderly. The Independent reports that the National Association of Care Catering has set new guidelines for serving nutritious meals in nursing homes. The changes come after reports indicated hundreds of thousands of elderly Brits at risk of malnutrition.

At the other end of the age spectrum, West Virginia University has opened a food bank for low-income students. The Philadelphia Inquirer says it's one of the only colleges in the country offering a food bank to students.
