Falafel Festival at the Vine Mediterranean Café & Market

Yeah, yeah, we know that this weekend is all about Oktoberfest and celebrating garbanzos of a different sort altogether, but true chickpea aficionados should head to The Vine Mediterranean Café & Market (3171 South Grand Boulevard; 314-776-0991) through Sunday for the restaurant's Falafel Festival.
At the festival, you can enjoy the Vine's excellent original falafel as well as its sesame and spicy variations. Falafel sandwiches and appetizers are only $2.99. Or, for the true falafel lover, there is an all-you-can-eat falafel bar for $6.99.
Last week, Riverfront Times named the Vine "Best Middle-Eastern Restaurant" for 2010. Not in the mood for falafel? Consider the Vine's meat shawarma, one of my 100 Favorite Dishes.
