Thank Goodness! A Turkey-Free Celebration

turkeyfriend.jpg
Hey pal! Come to our party. You aren't on the menu.
Are your notions of gratitude all tangled up in chowing down on the genetic horror-show that is a modern factory-farmed turkey?

No?

Awesome.

The St. Louis Vegetarian Society's Turkey-Free Thanksgiving Potluck is upon us. This Saturday, give thanks by chowing down on delicious plant matter at the First Congregational Church at 6501 Wydown Blvd. Come hang out starting at 6 p.m., and commence guiltless gluttony at 7. Fix enough of your favorite veggie dish to share with at least eight hungry herbivores, and bring a list of ingredients

While you're at it, round up some donations for Food Outreach, the local do-gooders that help folks living with cancer and HIV. The Vegetarian Society is collecting toys, hard candy, cookies, nutrition bars, hot chocolate packets, deodorant, toothpaste, socks, gloves and toilet paper. Bring your donations to the party and they'll get to the fine folks at Food Outreach.

If you're lucky, you'll get there before my famous roasted beet risotto is all gone.
