Food Safety Bill in Trouble Already?

Despite passing the Senate yesterday, the Food Safety Bill might stall because of a technical error. Roll Call explains that a provision added to the bill in the Senate violates the Constitutional rule that only the House can write tax laws. When the bill returns to the House today, representatives are expected to "blue slip" it, which could lead to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) dropping the bill, starting over in the next session. If Reid tries to push the bill, it will leave other legislation in limbo.

Are we over burgers? Not hardly! Tornoto's Globe and Mail looks at some of the most expensive, delicious, and ridiculous burgers available. Meanwhile, Slashfood.com previews Bob's Burgers, the newest addition to Fox's Sunday night animation schedule. The grown-up cartoon centers around a family-owned burger joint with lots of shots of animated grease. It premieres on January 9th, and probably won't feature a burger made with Kobe beef, foie gras, truffles and gold leaf.

We're all finished with the Four Loko mania, right? What's next? Time thinks it'll be 40-proof Adult Chocolate Milk. Even better? Adult Chocolate Milk topped with alcoholic whipped cream. At Esquire, they think the booze trend will stick with bacon. Specifically Bakon Vodka mixed with Jones' bacon-flavored soda.

Those millions of paper Starbucks cups that wind up in landfills need to go out of style, and the company's working on it. USA Today reports that the coffee giant has found a way to recycle all their cups into new cups by 2015. You could just bring your own, or ask for a ceramic mug in the meantime.
