For those who would like to dine out on New Year's Eve but have yet to decide where, Gut Check selected some of our favorite restaurants and some classy St. Louis favorites and then asked RFT editorial coordinator Courtney Schilling to find out the specific plans each has for the holiday. Our picks and the details are after the jump.
In addition, we asked each restaurant for its plans (or lack thereof) on Christmas Eve and Day. As you will see, with only a few exceptions, our choices are closed on both days.
Acero
Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
NYE: Only offering 5-course prix-fixe menu $65/person, includes glass of prosecco with first course. Regular hours.
Annie Gunn's
Christmas Eve: Open for lunch only; closed Christmas Day.
NYE: Open till midnight (last reservation 11 p.m.). Regular menu.
Araka
Christmas Eve: Open for dinner only; closed Christmas Day.
NYE: Open for dinner, regular menu (credit card required for reservation).
Brasserie by Niche
Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
NYE: Open, offering regular menu.
Cardwell's at the Plaza
Christmas Eve: Open for lunch only, regular menu; closed Christmas Day.
NYE: Open for lunch and dinner, regular hours; specials might be offered for dinner, but none selected yet.
The Crossing
Christmas Eve: open for lunch only; closed Christmas Day.
NYE: Open for dinner, special menu only: 5 courses for $75, wine pairings available for extra charge, seatings available 5 p.m. to midnight.
Farmhaus
Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
NYE: no regular menu, 5-course prix-fixe $100/person including alcohol pairings; seatings start at 5:15 p.m. by reservation only.
Five Bistro
Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
NYE: offering prix-fixe menu only: 5 courses with or without alcohol pairings (price points not yet determined); can reserve an early or late seating starting at 5 p.m.
Fond
Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
NYE: Offering a "Choose Your Own Adventure" 5-course tasting menu for $75 a person, including wine, no special seating times.
Franco

NYE: Open regular hours, offering full regular menu and some specials.
