A Moment of Silence for the Lenny's Sub Shop in Webster Groves

​As a general rule, Gut Check doesn't track the opening and closing of individual locations of chain restaurants. However, I'm going to make an exception for the Webster Groves location of Lenny's Sub Shop, which closed...well, I'm not exactly sure. I just happened to drive past the shuttered storefront this morning. (Anyone know?) At any rate, it's closed now.

Why do I single out this particular sub shop? Because it's where one of Gut Check's first great missions began: Cheesesteak Quest. Granted, I wasn't particularly impressed with the Lenny's cheesesteak, but the quest was one of my favorite Gut Check features, and seeing it closed prompted a pang of nostalgia.

Maybe someone will put a plaque there in its honor. Or maybe, you know, another generic chain sandwich shop.
