Rolf's Patisserie Recall Strikes Local Whole Foods Market Locations

Monday's Morning Brew mentioned a recall of gingerbread houses made by Rolf's Patisserie of Linconwood, Illinois, and sold at Whole Foods Market because of possible S. aureus (or staph) contamination

In fact, Whole Foods has issued a broader recall of Rolf's products sold in Missouri, Illinois and five other states. The recall was issued on December 24, the same day a colleague took the photo above at Whole Foods' Brentwood location. From the announcement of the recall:
The recalled items have been used as an ingredient in prepared food and bakery department products or repackaged and sold under the Whole Foods Market Label. Rolf's Patisserie has recalled all items that were made after Nov. 1, 2010.
Whole Foods reports no illnesses linked to products sold at its stores.

As the sign above indicates, customers can return recalled products to Whole Foods for a full refund -- assuming, of course, those products haven't already been consumed. The Whole Foods website has a complete list of the recalled items.
