This Just In: Nuclear Sludge Unsafe to Eat!
Yesterday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntary recall of Candy Dynamics Toxic Waste brand Nuclear Sludge bars. Seems the chewy treats, which are imported from Pakistan, might contain elevated levels of lead. (Which, as we all know, can cause health problems in everyone except robot killing machines.)
Sweet-tooth types concerned about consuming other Toxic Waste products -- Hi-Voltage and Short Circuit bubble gum and the like -- can rest easy, though. Indiana-based Candy Dynamics' press release about the recall assures us that "[n]o other 'Toxic Waste' brand product is affected by this recall."
Also: "No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem."

If you're holding Nuclear Sludge Cherry Chew bars, Nuclear Sludge Sour Apple Chew bars or Nuclear Sludge Blue Raspberry Chew bars in your candy stash, the company says to call Eileen O'Neal at 317-228-5012 (Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST) for instructions about disposing of 'em.
