Happy Hour at Sub Zero Vodka Bar -- Think of It As an Infusement Park!

The Deal: $4 vodka infusions, half off Anheuser-Busch bottled beers, half off select appetizers.

To hell with the beers, bring on the vodkas!

The Scene: Sub Zero takes fusion to a new level, melding the in-your-face chicness of America's white-collar culture with Asian-style dishes and Russia's drink of choice. A frozen bar, a sushi- and tempura-heavy menu, vodkas of every flavor imaginable and beaucoup blue neon. The drink list and menu are dappled with such an array of flavors that the choosing can prove to be an overwhelming task, especially in the drink department. Bring friends and stipulate that everyone order something different; there's a ton to try and plenty of room at the bar during Happy Hour hours.

Why You'll Go Back: The vodka (duh). All of Sub Zero's vodka infusions are thoughtfully flavored and go down smoother than is probably safe. Potential for overindulgence aside, the wide variety and high quality of the infusions are a recipe for return visits.

The Verdict: Sub Zero takes some risks, and we like that. And while we wish they'd discount more drinks for Happy Hour, we don't know of many places that can brew up a cocktail with Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka, call it the Frisky Bison and get away with it.
