Maplewood Farmers' Market Opens Today

​After a long, cold, snowy winter, the farmers' market season is finally upon us. The Maplewood Farmers' Market at Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue, Maplewood; 314-241-2337) kicks off this afternoon at 4 p.m. and will run every Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. through October.

Market regulars will see at least one new vendor this year: YellowTree Farm, the urban homestead run in an Affton neighborhood by Justin and Danielle Leszcz. (For more on the Leszczs' efforts, read former RFT staff writer Kristen Hinman's profile of YellowTree Farm.)

On Twitter this morning, YellowTail Farm announced what it would have at today's market:

Today at the market, Pea Shoots, Spinach, French Sorrel, Red Veined Sorrel, Red Buds, Nasturtium leaves, Basil and Tomato plants and more.
