A new week, a new development in the saga of the former Del Taco building at 212 South Grand Boulevard. Developer Rick Yackey, who owns the flying saucer, has released a statement to the Post-Dispatch in which he says he will consider alternatives to demolishing the structure.

Evan Benn of the Post-Dispatch files an update in another ongoing story, the fate of Ozzie's Restaurant & Sports Bar (1511 Washington Avenue; 314-241-0100): The restaurant is moving to a new location, according to its website. When we last checked in, Ozzie's had been closed for more than a month following a power outage and was planning to consolidate its operations from two floors to one.

Finally, Sauce Magazine has the news that south-city institution Del Pietro's Ristorante (5625 Hampton Avenue; 314-351-1700) will close on August 27 with the retirement of Mary Rose Del Pietro. A new restaurant, Mathew's Kitchen, will take its place.
