Pita Pit Coming to Downtown St. Louis

​The national fast-casual chain Pita Pit appears to be readying its first St. Louis location. A reader yesterday sent Gut Check a photo of the vacant storefront at 200 North Ninth Street, previously the home of Baladas Bistro. A sign in one window at this address announced that Pita Pit would be coming soon.

As you might expect based on its name, Pita Pit serves meat and vegetable combinations wrapped in pitas. The chain has locations throughout the country. According to its website, however, the only Missouri location is in Lee's Summit, on the other side of the state.

I have a call in to Pita Pit corporate headquarters for confirmation. More as I learn it.
