Gut Check Preps for a Weekend Brain Freeze at Eugene's Custard Company
After consuming hotter-than-hot dishes at Pearl Cafe and Market Pub House, Gut Check's eating-contest adventures have been getting a little heated lately. We nearly set our mouth on fire with spicy stir-fry and didn't even manage to get past two bites of ghost pepper-infused wings. To cool things down, next on our list is the custard-eating challenge at Eugene's Custard Company (1138 Town and Country Crossings Drive, Town & Country; 636-227-7300).

The eating contest isn't an everyday occurrence at Eugene's. But on Saturday at 1 p.m., the custard shop is offering adults and kids alike the rare opportunity to quickly stuff their faces with twenty ounces of frozen goodness. Spoons are not required, but your A game is: Past winners have completed the challenge in nineteen seconds. There's no entry fee, and the first to finish gets a gift certificate for free treats -- and probably one hell of a brain freeze.
Check back next week to see if Gut Check took home the prize. We love frozen custard, and we've been practicing this week by consuming large quantities of it. Waistline be damned! We've got a good feeling about this one.
