It has been an especially busy week for St. Louis restaurant news. Here are a few more items that we've come across this week:

- Real Mex Restaurants Inc., the parent company of Casa Gallardo and Chevy's Fresh Mex, has filed for bankruptcy, the St. Louis Business Journal reports. The California-based company claims to have lined up the funding needed to continue operations while it enacts its turnaround plan.

The Business Journal notes that earlier this summer, the St. Louis franchisee of Chevy's also filed for bankruptcy.

- The St. Louis food truck fleet is expanding yet again. Sauce Magazine reports on two new trucks that will be rolling out in the coming weeks: a gyro truck called Go! Gyro! Go! and a truck serving St. Louis-centric dishes called 2 Girls 4 Wheels.

(No, really, it's called 2 Girls 4 Wheels.)

- George Mahe of St. Louis Magazine has learned that local restaurateur Chris LaRocca (Crazy Fish, among many others) will open a pizza joint called Crushed Red Urban Bake & Chop Shop at 8007 Maryland Avenue in Clayton.

Hey, so whatever happened to Ramon Gallardo?

And, um, is 2 Girls 4 Wheels a reference to what I think it is?  Hopefully not; I think if that were the case 2 Girls 1 Truck would have been a better name...   Of course it reminds me of this Family Guy clip.
