​It might be a little tricky warming up to the cold weather that has blasted in with the fall season, but don't let nippy Mother Nature slow you down. There are plenty of ways to take advantage of the season, including fruitful fall festivals, fresh hops, ways to either enjoy or avoid the World Series, and even a zombie walk! Read on for a list of awesome goings-ons this weekend.

Friday (Oct. 21):

Nine Mighty Fine Hot Years Birthday Bash @ Third Degree Glass Factory
This birthday celebration and monthly Third Friday event features glass pumpkins created on the spot for the season and possibly smashed during a pumpkin death match. Try out the drink of the month -- birthday cake-tini. Also eat such tapas-style plates as smokey tomato soup and lobster mac and cheese for $2 to $8 each, enjoy live entertainment and more. Free admission. 6 to 10 p.m.

Around the World Wine Dinner @ Missouri Botanical Gardens
Chefs from Catering St. Louis will create a regional menu featuring food from Germany and pair each course with a different wine from the same region. Menu items include an assortment of grilled German sausages with mustards and housemade pickles, duck breast and kohlrabi schnitzel, Sachertorte with rum-soaked fruits and more. 10th Anniversary Party @ ArtDimensions
Celebrate a decade's worth of work from this art house, which aims to educate the public, provide a home for artists and beautify the city with art in public spaces. Enjoy chef demos and samples, interactive art, dancers and more live entertainment throughout the evening. $10 admission. 7 p.m.

Saturday (Oct. 22):

6th Annual Harvest Festival @ Tower Grove Farmers' Market
This annual fall fest features more than 90 vendors of local produce, meats, baked goods, gourmet prepared foods and artisan wares. Enjoy live music, yoga on the lawn and the season's best bounty. Free admission. 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fresh Hop Beer Festival @ Schlafly Bottleworks
Schlafly flys in fresh, wet hops from Washington state and invites local breweries to brew a unique style for this annual festival. Sample concoctions from Charleville Microbrewery, Ferguson Brewing Co., Six Row Brewing Co., Square One Brewery & Distillery and many more. Tickets are available on the Schlafly web site for $25 and $30 the day of the event. Noon to 4 p.m.

St. Louis Zombie Walk @ Delmar Loop
This massive zombie walk, aiming to raise funds and awareness for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, meets in the parking lot behind Starbucks in the Loop at 6 p.m. and begins at 7 p.m., creeping down Delmar Boulevard and back. Afterwards, several Loop businesses feature special offers including $5 "black wings" and $3 "zombie shots" for participants at Market Pub House and 25 percent of sales donated to the cause from Noodles & Company. Smokin' Hicks BBQ will also have food for sale on the premises. Donations encouraged. Participants must sign a code of conduct agreement. 6 to 9 p.m.

10th Annual Pasta Dinner for CHARIS @ Center For Divine Love
The St. Louis Women's Chorus hosts its annual fundraiser with all-you-can-eat-pasta, salad and dessert by Chef David Hietter. Non-alcoholic beverages are included. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. $12 per person. 5 p.m.

Sunday (Oct. 23):

Dutchtown Harvest Festival - A Food Day event @ Marquette Park
This event features live music, local arts and crafts, children's activities, cooking demos, a pie cooking contest and 25 local vendors supporting healthy, affordable food including Urban Eats Café, Iron Barley and MOFU Soy Beanery. Free admission. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Four Roses Bourbon Tasting Dinner @ Harvest
Enjoy a comparative tasting of different bourbons, each paired with an outstanding appetizer. Immediately following, there will be a four-course dinner including pan-seared tuna, Jones Heritage Farm's pork belly and more -- each course paired with a cocktail created using the different Four Roses bourbons. Call 314-645-3522 to reserve seats. $50 per person. 6:30 p.m.

World Series Watching Party @ Art Hill
Cheer on the Cardinals on a big screen in game four of the World Series on St. Louis' front lawn, Art Hill. Bring your blankets and chairs, pack a picnic and enjoy the live telecast with pretzels, popcorn and hot chocolate courtesy of the Saint Louis Art Museum. Free. 7 p.m.
