Tidbits from Max & Erma's, Smashburger

​- November has already been a busy month at West County Center (I-270 & Manchester Road, Des Peres). This week saw the debut of  J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood. Now, Max & Erma's has set Monday, November 7, for its opening, according to Sauce.

This is the fourth area location for Max & Erma's, which has spots in St. Peter's, Lake St. Louis and Fairview Heights, Illinois. (A Downtown location closed last year.)

At West County Center, as in Fairview Heights, it takes over the space formerly occupied by Hanley's Grille & Tap.

- Gut Check learned last month that Smashburger was preparing to open its second location at 1671 Clarkson Road in Chesterfield. Now, we have the opening date: Wednesday, November 16. The first area location of the "better burger" chain opened in St. Charles earlier this year.
