Anne Byrn, The Cake Mix Doctor Samples and Signing @ Straub's
Anne Byrn, an award-winning food writer and author of seven cookbooks including The Cake Mix Doctor and The Dinner Doctor, unveils her new line of cake mixes, which have a from-scratch taste and no artificial ingredients, for sampling. Free. On Friday, Nov. 4, Byrn will be at Straub's on Kingshighway from 4 to 7 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 5, Byrn will be at Straub's on Forsyth from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Straub's on West Elm from 4 to 6 p.m.
"It's A Wonderful Death" Opening Night @ Bissell Mansion Restaurant & Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre
The debut of this interactive parody of Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life," is presented with a 4-course meal "to die for." The Wine Merchant prepares a line-up of wine said to please the most discriminating palates and bargain hunters, too, including rare grower champagnes from importer Terry Theisse, new releases from importer Eric Solomon & European Cellars and more. $10 per person -- no reservations required. Feast Your Eyes @ Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis
CAM's monthly program featuring creative, art-inspired tastings by a local chef, features Chef Chris Bork of Blood & Sand creating a tasting menu to coincide a current exhibition by David Noonan and Emily Wardill. Afterwards, stick around for an exhibition tour to see the connection between the culinary dishes you just savored and works by CAM's current exhibiting artists. Free. 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
4th Annual Fall Fire Festival @ The Green Center
Enjoy an evening of fire, food and fine drinks for fall season. This all-ages event features Aalim and Chuvani belly dancers, the STL Hoop Club and more. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children the day of the event and includes food and drink. 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Fall Festival @ Sutter-Meyer House
The Sutter-Meyer House (6826 Chamberlain Court) , self-proclaimed oldest building in University City, celebrates the season with the likes of free family fun including Dutch oven cooking demonstrations, sack and three-legged races, art activities, horseshoe toss and more. Visit this 19th Century time capsule for tours and to learn how kettle corn, apple cider and more were made back in the day. Free admission. 2 to 4 p.m.
