Luciano's Trattoria (172 Carondelet Plaza, Clayton; 314-863-9969) is closed this week after a pipe there burst Friday morning, inundating the restaurant with water.

George Mahe of St. Louis Magazine had the first report of the flood and quoted owner Michael Del Pietro as saying Luciano's could be closed "a lot of weeks."

However, Tiffany Willis, the restaurant's office manager, tells Gut Check this morning, "We hope to have things up and running by next week."

"That's the game plan," she cautions, though she notes that the restaurant is already in the process of replacing the soaked carpets. We'll let you know about the reopening as soon as we hear it.
