Tidbits from Neruda, Desserts on the Boulevard

The new Desserts on the Boulevard (Lindell, that is)

​- Joe Bonwich of the Post-Dispatch reports that east-side mainstay Neruda (4 Club Centre Court, Edwardsville, Illinois; 618-659-9866) will close after service on Valentine's Day. Owner Madt Mallinckrodt is retiring from the restaurant business, according to a note on the restaurant's website.

- Gut Check first spied Desserts on the Boulevard (3949 Lindell Boulevard; 314-534-4300) way back in July. According to its Facebook page, the café and dessert bar opened last Tuesday, January 3.
