Amidst flurries, Crushed Red opens in Clayton.
After a soft opening this weekend, Crushed Red officially debuted today at 8007 Maryland Avenue in Clayton. (The space was formerly home to Blick Art Materials; as you might guess, the renovation has been thorough.)

Crushed Red is the latest venture from restaurateur Chris LaRocca (perhaps best known for the late Crazy Fish, he also just bowed EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery in Chesterfield late last year). It calls itself an "urban bake and chop shop" specializing in salads as well as pizzas and soups.

Crushed Red 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There is a website, though you'll find more info on its Facebook page. Call 314-725-8007.
