For the second consecutive season, Anthony Bourdain is featuring Missouri on his Travel Channel show No Reservations. Once again, alas, he isn't visiting St. Louis.

Last year, Bourdain visited the Ozarks, where he skinned a squirrel and met acclaimed novelist Daniel Woodrell (Winter's Bone). Tonight's episode, airing 8 p.m. locally, brings Tony and his sometime sidekick Zamir to Kansas City. Based on the preview material on the Travel Channel website, barbecue is the episode's main concern.

Among the places Bourdain visits is gas station-turned-barbecue joint Oklahoma Joe's. I had lunch at Oklahoma Joe's on a trip to Kansas City last month, and let me tell you: However much Bourdain hypes the place up, it's deserved. I'd gladly drive the eight hours round-trip in a day just to have the beef brisket (or the ribs or the pulled pork...) again.
