Southwest Diner Now Open in Ellendale
Southwest Diner opened Wednesday morning at 6903 Southwest Avenue in the city's Ellendale neighborhood, just east of Southwest's intersection with McCausland.

Jonathan Jones and Anna Sidel are the owners and operators of Southwest Diner. Jones describes the restaurant's food to Gut Check as "classic diner food, and the specialities of the Southwest, especially New Mexico."
You might have sampled Southwest Diner's fare without realizing it at Tower Grove Farmers' Market, where the restaurant's team has been serving breakfast tacos (excellent, by the way) and lemonade for a few seasons, originally under the name Fats Pierre.
Southwest Diner is placing the taco portion of its Tower Grove Farmers' Market presence on hiatus to focus on the restaurant proper. However, Jones adds, "We'll have stand there," serving lemonade in the meantime.
