Tidbits: Dog Town Opens, Selam Ethiopian Restaurant Closes
- North St. Louis County has a new hot-dog joint: Dog Town opened two weeks ago at 2182 North Highway 67 in Florissant. (The space was previously the second location of White Barn and, before that, a Rally's.) Ian Froeb Dog Town opened earlier this month in Florissant.
Dog Town features all-beef hot dogs deep-fried and then grilled. Variations include the "Chicago Dog" (relish, mustard, onions, tomatoes, peppers and a pickle), the "Miami Dog" (pineapple, avocado, lettuce) and the "St. Louis Dog" (mustard, ketchup, relish, onions). Most of the hot dogs range from $3.75 to $4.25 in price. Sides include fresh-cut fries, beans and cole slaw. Deep-fried Oreos, Twinkies and Ding-Dongs are available for dessert.
- Sauce reports that Selam Ethiopian Restaurant (549 Rosedale Avenue; 314-726-7996) has closed after a five-year run just off Delmar Boulevard on the eastern half of the Delmar Loop.
