Trattoria Toscana Relocating West on Gravois
Reminder: You have until Monday to nominate your choice for St. Louis' most underrated Italian restaurant. If I were to make a nomination, one place I'd definitely consider would be cozy Trattoria Toscana (9416 Gravois Road, south St. Louis County; 314-631-4321). Now comes word from Joe Bonwich of the Post-Dispatch that Trattoria Toscana is relocating farther west.
A call to the restaurant confirms that Trattoria Toscana will relocate next month to 11686 Gravois Road in Sunset Hills, an address that has already been home to any number of restaurants over the years.
Most recently, it was home to Braswell's 30 West Cafe, which opened only in late May of this year. The news of Trattoria Toscana's relocation is the first that Gut Check had heard of Braswell's shuttering. Its phone number is already disconnected, and a post left on Braswell's Facebook page, presumably by a former employee, suggests that it closed in the first half of June after only two or three weeks in business.
