Laredo on Lafayette Square Opens in Former Arcelia's
Laredo on Lafayette Square opened last week at 2001 Park Avenue, the former location of Arcelia's Mexicana Restaurant. The restaurant is open for lunch only, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., until this Thursday, August 9, when it will be open for dinner until 11 p.m.

You can reach Laredo at 314-231-9200 or via its Facebook page. Before you head over to Lafayette Square to try it, however, know that the restaurant is closed on Monday.
When we spoke to owner Pat Shelton last year, she told Gut Check that she intended to reopen the restaurant, which closed after twenty years at the end of 2011, as Arcelia's. In the meantime, however, Marta Ramirez, the daughter of Arcelia's late founder, Arcelia Sanchez, announced plans to reopen Arcelia's at 1928 South 12th Street in Soulard. (Look for that restaurant to open later this month.)
