In general, food recalls aren't funny. Listeria, E. coli, salmonella: serious business, all of them. Undeclared allergens might not matter to most consumers, but for those who are allergic, they can be a very big deal, indeed.

But then there is this recall, announced last week by the USDA.

It seems some consumers of frozen Salisbury steaks from Geneva, Illinois-based On-Cor Frozen Foods discovered quite the surprise when they opened their packages recently. Let's go the USDA press release, shall we?

On-Cor Frozen Foods, a Geneva, Ill. establishment, is recalling approximately 605 pounds of frozen boneless rib-shaped patties with barbecue sauce because they may have been mispackaged and labeled as Salisbury steak products, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
