Free Gooey Butter Cake Martini Samples TONIGHT at The Ritz!

Now the opportunity to have your gooey butter cake in liquid alcohol form has finally arrived thanks to the mixologist at the Ritz-Carlton (100 Carondelet Plaza, Clayton; 314-863-6300).

Better yet, you can get a free sip of this sweet and surprisingly accurate martini tonight and every Friday night at 5:30 p.m. in the hotel's Lobby Lounge along with a very brief welcome and explanation of how the coffee cake and, ultimately, the drink came about from the hotel's food and beverage director, Sasa Jaramez.
Jaramaz, who arrived from the even ritzier Ritz on Amelia Island, is trying to reach out to locals and share the "more casual, simple, seasonal and regional menus" that the hotel is developing. Chef demos at local farmers' markets as well as the development of this St. Louis take on the martini are just some of the ideas that Jaramaz has up his very well ironed sleeves.
The hotel is even giving out fancy bookmarks with the recipe on them to attendees at the Lobby Lounge. If you are the tablet type, however, we have the recipe here for you.
The Ritz-Carlton's St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake Martini
Holly Fann Sasa Jamaraz, Director of Food and Beverage at The Ritz Carlton, St. Louis
1 oz Cake Vodka
1 oz Godiva White Chocolate Liquer
.5 oz Amaretto
.5 oz Frangelico
.5 oz Buttershots
Combine all with ice in a shaker. Strain into a martini glass rimmed with powder sugar.
