Last month, you voted Filomena's Italian Kitchen (9900 Manchester Road, Glendale; 314-961-9909) St. Louis' most underrated Italian restaurant. Now it's time to put away your Nice cap and sharpen your knives as you recall that overcooked pasta, that plate of floppy T-ravs, that white sauce indistinguishable from paste.

Tony's. Easily. From its reputation you would think it is worthy of a Michelin star or two or three. In fact, it is reasonable quality, but not outstanding, food; absolutely no creativity or inspiration in the menu; mediocre service; antiquated atmosphere; I could go on and on.

When I hear people say they are going to dinner on the Hill tonight, I typically roll my eyes. With a few exceptions (Anthoninos!), the best places happen to be just outside of that neighborhood. As far as most overrated, it has to be Cunetto. Haven't been in awhile, but last time I was there the food just wasn't good. And everyone else in my party felt the same way.

Joey B's on the Hill. The only cheese they have is provel. WTF provel on pizza is ok but just leave that goop off my pasta.

Go to Rigazzi's if you need someone to cook Chef Boyarde for you

and by "cook", you mean "warm up" in the microwave. I didn't realize Rigazzi's would even qualify as a "restaurant."

Cunetto's. I had the worst pasta ever there. Came completely drowned in a boiling hot cream sauce, but the unrecognizable meat mixture inside was ice cold. Probably won't go back anytime soon.

Zia's. Overly sugared red sauce and "alfredo sauce" that has the taste and consistency of watered-down Elmer's Glue.

Cunetto's is the most overrated in my book. The last time I went, I was craving a good pesto. The ingredients were all there, but the entire dish was swimming in olive oil (noodles and all). I have nearly come to fisticuffs with out-of-towners over the quality of our Italian food. They say, "you're Italian is soooo overrated, I went to Cunetto's, that place everyone told me to go to, and I have to say it is overrated." I can't fault the out-of-towners for following a recommendation, but I can fault the person making the recommendation.
