Tidbits: Vin de Set Celebrates Julia Child, Potbelly Cometh
- Julia Child would have turned 100 years old on Wednesday, August 15. To celebrate the occasion, Vin de Set (2017 Chouteau Avenue; 314-241-8989) will offer a special three-course, prix-fixe dinner from Tuesday, August 14, through Sunday, August 19.

For $29.99, diners will receive three courses based on Child's recipes: "Billi-Bi," a soup made from mussel stock with white wine and cream; cold-braised veal salad with a tuna sauce; and "Julia's Rib-Eye Steak Diane."
- Evan Benn of the Post-Dispatch reports that the first area location of the Chicago-based chain Potbelly Sandwich Shop will open Thursday, August 23, at 11615 Olive Boulevard in Creve Coeur, the former home of the late Provisions Gourmet Market.
Since 1996, Potbelly has grown from the original Chicago shop to 240 locations nationwide. Its menu features sandwiches as well as soups and chili, salads and breakfast sandwiches.
