A food recall not related to peanuts and peanut butter? Gut Check had to read the item twice before we believed it.

Dole Fresh Vegetables has announced a voluntary recall of its "American Blend" salad mix because of the risk of contamination by listeria monocytogenes.

According to the Dole press release, via the FDA, there have been no reported cases of illness.

The company issued the recall after what it calls an "isolated instance" of a positive listeria result in a test by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.

The recalled salad blend was distributed in ten states, including both Missouri and Illinois.

The recalled packages are the twelve-ounce size of the "American Blend" mix, with a code of A275208A or B, a use-by date of October 17 and a UPC code of 7143000933.
