Sir's Bar-B-Que Closed? (Again?)

Sir's Bar-B-Que (6714 Olive Boulevard, University City; 314-499-3461), which has already relocated twice -- from east of the Delmar Loop to downtown and then from downtown to University City -- and survived a shutdown at its current location last winter, might have closed again.
Ligaya Figueras of Sauce reports that the restaurant has recently been dark during its posted hours of business.
Gut Check stopped by just now and through the (locked) front door saw that at least some furniture was still in place inside the dining room and that there were still bottles stocked on the bar. We also a stack of last week's Riverfront Times, suggesting a recent visit by...someone.
The restaurant's phone number remains active. Gut Check left a message seeking more information. Which we'll pass along to you as soon we learn it.
