AMC West Olive 16 Opens Dine-In Theatre With Full Menu and Seat-Side Service
Seeing a movie this weekend? Want to feel like the Queen of freaking England while you're at it?
On Monday, November 5, AMC West Olive 16 (12657 Olive Boulevard, Creve Coeur; 314-542-4262) became the first local AMC Theatre to debut the theater chain's Dine-In Theatre in St. Louis. Billed as a "movie theatre-restaurant," its amenities include recliner seating, a full food menu and beer and cocktail menus. AMC says the Dine-In Theatres will offer themed menus inspired by films screened in the theater.
But what kind of food does a "movie theatre-restaurant" serve?
The menu on AMC's website lists a wide variety of basic menu options, including the Seafood Sampler, with Thai bang shrimp, lobster carbonara pizzetta and a crab cake ($14.99), Buffalo Chicken Tenders, beer-battered chicken tenders ($12.49) and Blackened Salmon, Cajun-spiced salmon served with red bliss mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables ($14.99).
Drink choices range from wines by the bottle and glass, draft or bottled premium or domestic beers and a full cocktail bar.
Though this marks AMC's first such theater in St. Louis -- its only other in Missouri is in Kansas City -- competing Wehrenberg Theatres has a similar concept in two of its local theaters. Earlier this year, Wehrenberg launched its Five Star Lounge in its Des Peres 14 Cine (12701 Manchester Road; 314-822-4903). It's first Five Star Lounge opened in 2010 at Chesterfield Galaxy 14 Cine (450 THF Boulevard, Chesterfield; 636-532-8141). The lounge also offers a food and drink menu, as well as upgraded seating.
