Nesquik Recalled for Salmonella Risk

The bad news? The only reason we're talking about Nesquik's promotional partnership with Wreck-It Ralph is because of a recall of the chocolate-powder drink mix.

Nestle has announced (via the FDA) a voluntary recall of Nesquik that might have been contaminated with salmonella. The source of the potential salmonella contamination is a specific ingredient, calcium carbonate. The company that supplies Nestle with its calcium carbonate recalled the product due to potential salmonella contamination, Nestle reports.
The recalled applies to the following Nesquik packages:
- 10.9-ounce with UPC 0 28000 67990 3 and production code 2278574810
- 21.8-ounce with UPC 0 28000 68090 9 and one of the following production codes: 2278574810, 2278574820, 2279574810, 2279574820, 2284574820, 2284574830, 2285574810, 2285574820, 2287574820, 2289574810, 2289574820
- 40.7-ounce with UPC 0 28000 68230 9 and production code 2282574810 or 2282574820
