Tidbits: Basso, It's a Better Burger, Espinos
- Basso (7036 Clayton Avenue; 314-932-7818) which opened last month at the Cheshire, is now open for lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. daily. You can view the lunch menu on Basso's website. (Other restaurants: Please note how clean and readable Basso's non-PDF menu is!)

Basso is the second new restaurant to open at the renovated hotel, following the Restaurant at the Cheshire (6300 Clayton Road; 314-647-7300). It features the cooking of Patrick Connolly, a St. Louis native who in 2008 won the James Beard Foundation's award for "Best Chef: Northeast" for his work at Radius in Boston.

- It's a Better Burger, the better-burger joint from former Rams and (football) Cardinals coach Jim Hanifan, has closed its location at 17409C Chesterfield Airport Road. The restaurant posted the following note on its Facebook page:
Effective today, January 10, we are closing the Chesterfield Valley location. We will be moving the equipment to a soon to be announced new location. Please visit us at one of our other locations while we relocate.
It's a Better Burger remains open at 4881 Mexico Road in St. Peters and at 11982 Dorsett Road in Maryland Heights.
