El Paisano Mexican Bar & Grill Opening on Delmar
A sign is up at 5916 Delmar Boulevard for El Paisano Mexican Bar & Grill. The building, a few blocks east of the Loop at the intersection of Delmar and Hamilton Avenue, was previously home to the Twisted Olive.

(We didn't know that the Twisted Olive had closed until we saw the El Paisano sign today. The martini bar's phone number has been disconnected.)
This El Paisano shares not only the name, but also the logo of the El Paisano restaurants that already exist in St. Louis. An employee at the Lindenwood Park location (3315 Watson Road; 314-645-7455) location was unable to provide any information when we called this morning.
We couldn't tell at what stage of construction/renovation the new El Paisano is. (The Twisted Olive logo remains on the front door.) More as we learn it.
