Tidbits: More Tuesdays for Farmhaus, a 100 for Perennial, Jobs at Tucanos
- In November of last year, Farmhaus (3257 Ivanhoe Avenue; 314-647-3800) announced that it would expand its dinner service to Tuesdays to accomodate holiday demand. (The restaurant's regular schedule had been lunch Monday through Thursday, dinner Wednesday through Saturday.)
Today, the acclaimed restaurant announced via Twitter that it will remain open for dinner on Tuesday evenings "for the foreseeable future". So if you've been striking out trying to score one of the area's toughest reservations, keep trying....
- Perennial Artisan Ales (8125 Michigan Avenue; 314-631-7300) has quite a feather to stick in its cap. The influential craft-beer website Beer Advocate has awarded Perennial's imperial stout (with vanilla bean, cinnamon stick, cacao nibs and ancho chiles) Abraxas a perfect score of 100. Beer Advocate users, meanwhile, currently rate it a not-too-shabby 94 out of 100. Perennial head brewer Cory King tweeted the news with a succinct, and deserved, "Hell yeah!!"
- Tucanos Brazilian Grill, a small chain of Brazilian-style churrascarias -- i.e., all-the-meat-on-a-skewer-you-can-eat steakhouses -- is slated to open next month at 1520 South Fifth Street in St. Charles. The restaurant is hiring for all positions and will hold a job fair at the restaurant from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, January 17. Call 636-724-4499 for more information. Gaucho costumes optional.
