Red Sea Cafe & Bar Already Closed
Red Sea Cafe & Bar (8613 Olive Boulevard, University City), an Ethiopian restaurant that opened only this past October in the Jeffrey Plaza strip mall at Olive Boulevard and Interstate 170, has already closed. 
Evan C. Jones Hooked and now Red Sea have closed at 8613 Olive in the past year. The exact date of the closure is unclear.
Update: (Monday, February 25, 9 a.m.) A reader tells me via Twitter that Red Sea has been closed for "almost a month".
Work is underway on the next venture to occupy the address: a sign in the front window announces that an Indian restaurant, name unknown, will open there.

The short-lived Red Sea (which had no connection to the former Delmar Loop Ethiopian restaurant of the same name) succeeded the seafood restaurant Hooked at 8613 Olive. Hooked itself lasted less than a year there.
Still, it might be too soon to add this address to the roster of seemingly cursed restaurant spaces. After all, before it was Hooked, it was the original home of Pho Long (8629 Olive Boulevard, University City; 314-997-1218), which then moved to a larger space in the same strip mall.
