Wine and Cheese Place Celebrates Creve Coeur Expansion with Beer, Wine and Spirits Tastings

Here at Gut Check, we love a free drink, and this weekend The Wine and Cheese Place has got us covered.

In celebration of the expansion of its Creve Coeur location (457 New Ballas Road; 314-989-0020), the Wine and Cheese Place will host two tastings -- a beer and spirits tasting on Friday and a wine tasting on Saturday.

"We've been here a year and a half, but we had a smaller location than the other branches," says manager Marc Ventus. "With the expansion, we now have a store that matches the others, so we're really excited."

The expansion has allowed The Wine and Cheese Place to carry more wine, beer and liquor, as well as more food items. Except cheese. Same amount of cheese. But we'll take more beer.

"At the tasting there will be a combination of new things on the market, plus things that are new to our store and things we just wanted to try," Ventus says.

There will also be food vendors and samples of cheese and the Wine and Cheese Place's inimitable nuts roasted in house.

The beer and spirit tasting will be going on Friday from 4-7 p.m., and the wine tasting will be Saturday from 12-4 p.m. The full list of beverages that will be sampled can be found online at The Wine and Cheese Place blog.
