Update: We still have gift certificates to participating restaurants to give away! Find out how to win them after the jump!
---------------------
In 1991, ActionAIDS, a Philadelphia-based agency to help those suffering from AIDS, organized the first Dining Out For Life event. ActionAIDS encouraged local restaurants to donate a portion of their proceeds from one day to the organization, which would use the funds to fight AIDS in the community.Since then, Dining Out For Life has expanded to more than 60 cities across the U.S.

On Thursday, April 25, more than 150 St. Louis area restaurants will donate at least 25% of your check to Saint Louis Effort For AIDS. A full list of participating restaurants and the amount they are donating is available at the St. Louis Dining Out For Life webpage.

But wait! We have gift certificates for five of the participating restaurants, and we want you to have them. Find out how to get one after the jump.

To promote Dining Out For Life, we're giving away six $25 gift certificates to local restaurants participating in the event. The gift certificates can be used any time.

You could win $25 to Coastal Bistro and Bar, The Post Sports Bar and Grill, Molly's in Soulard, City Diner or Joanie's Pizzeria (we have two gift certificates for Joanie's).

To enter, just leave a comment telling us where you'll be dining out (for life) on Thursday, and why it's important to you to do so. To be eligible, you must leave a valid e-mail address (or Twitter handle or Facebook profile URL) in the comment-entry field. Employees of the restaurants listed and Riverfront Times are not eligible.

The giveaway will end at 5 p.m. today (Wednesday), and the gift certificates will be available for pick up tomorrow at the RFT front desk. You can choose which one you want when you get there. First come, first served.

Now go check out the list of restaurants and start getting hungry! There's something on the list for every taste and in every neighborhood. And, best of all, there's no guilt in ordering dessert if you know it's for a good cause.
