Of all the greeting-card company holidays manufactured over the years, Mother's Day remains one we're perennially endeared toward...cause let's face it, moms deserves their own holiday.

Make Mom's day with a meal at any of these eight St. Louis restaurants, which offer outstanding brunch selections in some of the city's most exciting neighborhoods.

Half & Half (8135 Maryland Avenue, Clayton; 314-725-0719)
There's one obligatory St. Louis brunch spot that Mom is sure to love: Mike Randolph's Half & Half. Sure, the wait might be a little longer than elsewhere, but here, the breakfast, lunch and brunch options more than make up for it. The menu ranges from riffs on classic favorites to more experimental before-3 p.m.-fare, including mouthwatering mains such as salmon hash, eggs Benedict, brioche French toast, blueberry pancakes, and much more. If lunch sounds better to Mom, suggest the grilled salmon BLT, house-made burger topped with bacon and an egg or the fried egg sandwich. Whatever your order, be sure to also peruse the coffee and cocktail menus, too, for fresh, hand-crafted drinks to accompany your meal. This year for Mother's Day, owner Mike Randolph says the restaurant is planning "Mother-friendly" meals, inducing a special French toast dish.

Café Madeleine (4256 Magnolia Avenue; 314-575-5658)
Maybe Mom's noticed the tables and chairs dotting the grounds around the Piper Palm House on the north side of Tower Grove Park. If not, there's no time like the present. Here French-inspired dishes side alongside soups and tempting pastries, including the café's signature dessert, a traditional French madeleine. Mom's earned a relaxing and classic Sunday brunch, and at Café Madeleine that's what you get and more: fresh juices, white tablecloths, sharply dressed waiters, European newspapers and traditional brunch bites. And as an added bonus, after you and Mom are finished noshing on eggs and potatoes, lox and bagels, meats, veggies and fruits, you can allow your meal to settle while strolling around our city's lovely Victorian park or while sitting in a horse-drawn carriage circling Tower Grove Park.
