Nosh on ribs, gourmet nachos and veggie burgers with cold beer to the soundtrack of a jazz ensemble, Smash Band and more. General admission costs $5 per person (tasting tickets sold separately), with beverage and food ticket packages available from $25 to $50. 6 p.m.
Food Truck Friday @ Tower Grove Park
For the third year in a row, Food Truck Friday invades Tower Grove Park with eats from Guerilla Street Food, Hot Aztec, Sarah's Cake Stop and much more. Arrive early to avoid lines and come with a big appetite. Admission is free. 5 to 8 p.m.
Columbia Wine & Food Festival @ Columbia, Mo.
If getting out of town sounds appealing this weekend, consider commuting just a couple of hours West for this fest. Highlights include a grand tasting on Friday, May 10, that features more than 400 wines and freshly prepared bites, cooking demonstrations and a chocolate tasting class on Saturday, May 11, complete with eight sampling stations. Mother's Day Tea @ Kitchen Conservatory
This demonstation class includes the preparation of cinnamon-caramel scones, chocolate-cranberry muffins, mushroom-chive quiche, smoked chicken tea sandwiches with sun-dried tomato spread, almond shortbread, orange granita champagne cocktails and tea. $45 per person.
