Florissant City Council Approves New Rally's

After a vote Monday night at the Florissant City Council meeting, Rally's Hamburgers has been approved to move into 2182 North Highway 67. The petition was approved by the planning and zoning commission in July. Rally's is apparently looking to elevate its brand nationwide and wants this location to begin a "more contemporary look" for the company in St. Louis.

There will have to be some stone work done; the building does not currently meet the masonry ordinance. Commission members were also concerned about Rally's painting the brick -- they "would like it done nicely and professionally and include the entire building." Commissioner James Hessel said the currently building looked so bad that anything would be an improvement. Rally's has promised to installing new curbing, new dumpsters, re-paint and re-seal the parking lot and refurbish the lights, plus plant new landscaping features.

Petitioners also assured the city that since this Rally's will be corporate-owned, not franchisee-owned, there would be plenty of money to keep it looking nice. It will also be required to install bollards around outdoor seating for safety because of the high flow of shopping center of traffic.

The Rally's in Florissant will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m., though the commission said it had no problem with the fast food joint being open 24 hours a day. We'll update you with a projected opening date when we get it.

I'm sorry, no body is calling (THOSE PEOPLE)... victims, and NO, an African American CEO of the fast food chains will not change anything. My response strictly mentions the lack of knowledge in diet, which is not just an African American thing, it's an American thing. If people can get passed the racist bias and see how this affects everyone, and not just the (THOSE PEOPLE) we could actually make some positive change in this country.

This is the second best news I've gotten all week. I'm going to gain like 400 pounds.

If only the CEO of the biggest fast food chain in the world was an African American. Then we would see a change in the company so those people in the aforementioned communities were no longer victims of such things.

Maybe they should put a Chipotle there! Or even a Qdoba. Maybe a St. Louis Bread Co. would do well.

There is a Chipotle on Lindbergh in front of the Target.

Demographics decide a lot of things, but when it comes to food, people are their own worst enemy and access, knowledge and finances dictate what ends up on peoples dinner table. Unfortunately, it is also the legacy that the children will inherit.

believe me...if the demographic was right...there would be a chipotle in that area.

I think they are building a Chipotle up there...at least that's what I heard. But I completely agree with you, the last thing we need is more fast food joints.

......the only places you can find Rally's in St. Louis minus a couple locations are dumps. Only a matter of time before the restaurant fits in with the scenery

There is a Chipotle a quarter mile away, Demica. Built in the last year. I'm glad to see Rally's fixing the blight they created although I supported the two local business that had filled their gap in the meantime. I doubt they will find much success unless they adjust the entrances and exits to that plaza and fix the traffic issues that constantly back up traffic in that lot though.

No, they need a Chipotle or something healthy up there. This is not a cause to celebrate, that food is the reason for obesity, heart disease, and high blood pressure in the predominantly African-American communities.
