OpenTable, the hybrid restaurant recommendation/reservation making website, announced its list of 100 restaurants in the country that diners consider the most "fit for foodies." Only two restaurants in Missouri were included and -- suck it, Kansas City -- they're both in St. Louis. Of course, it's no surprise to us that Niche (7734 Forsyth Boulevard, Clayton; 314-773-7755) and Five Bistro (5100 Daggett Avenue; 314-773-5553) made the cut.
The list took into account over five million reviews from verified OpenTable diners and looked at over 15,000 restaurants all over the country. Not every state got a winner, though -- only 26 made the list, with California clocking in at 20 winners.
"I think it's pretty cool -- it's nice that it's based on people who actually eat here, and not necessarily on what critics say," Five Bistro's Anthony Devoti tells Gut Check. "Especially since there's only two in Missouri, it's pretty unbelievable. There's a lot of really good restaurants in Kansas City and Columbia, so that's pretty kick ass. Right on."
